THE ONCE BITTEN STORY.........so far!
Originally formed in 2005 by SHY bass
player Roy Davis, Once Bitten Music Publishing was set up
essentially to administer Roy's own back catalogue of songs relating
to SHY. After years of being "ripped off" by all and sundry, Roy
decided to his "own house in order" and Once Bitten Music was born.
Roy contacted some of his old mates who
had "experienced difficulties" in collecting past royalties and soon
the likes of Pete Way (UFO, Waysted, Damage Control etc), Blaze
Bayley (Wolfsbane, Iron Maiden, Blaze) and Tony Mills (Shy, Sweet,
TNT) were on board.
Although tracking down "misplaced"
royalties is a major part of Once Bitten's work, representing new
unsigned talent is also an important part of what Once Bitten is all
about. To this end, material from unsigned artists and bands is
actively encouraged.
All artists, established or not need
protection and Once Bitten Music strives to make sure that none of
its artistes are "ripped off". Helping bands secure deals and
licences is part of the service and many contract negotiations are
carried out on behalf of the artist.
