About Us

Originally formed in 2005 by SHY bass player Roy Davis, Once Bitten Music Publishing was set up essentially to administer Roy's own back catalogue of songs relating to SHY. After years of being "ripped off" by all and sundry, Roy decided to put his "own house in order" and Once Bitten Music was born.

Roy contacted some of his old mates who had "experienced difficulties" in collecting past royalties and soon the likes of Pete Way (UFO, Waysted, Damage Control etc), Blaze Bayley (Wolfsbane, Iron Maiden, Blaze) and Tony Mills (Shy, Sweet, TNT) were on board.

Although tracking down "misplaced" royalties is a major part of Once Bitten's work, representing new unsigned talent is also an important part of what Once Bitten is all about. To this end, material from unsigned artists and bands is actively encouraged.

All artists, established or not, need protection and Once Bitten Music strives to make sure that none of its artistes are "ripped off" and helping bands secure deals and licences is part of the service. Many contract negotiations are carried out on behalf of the artist.  

Through a network of worlwide sub-publishers Once Bitten Music now exploits the worldwide use of its copyrights. Once Bitten exploits its artists through record sales, film placement, television, mobile phones, etc, infact anywhere where music copywrite is required.The objective is to sign artists and songwriters exclusively to Once Bitten music Ltd and in some cases as a joint venture with Notting Hill Music, please check out www.nottinghillmusic.com. As a young independent company we strive to get involved with artists at an early stage in their career. We also negotiate with record labels on our artists behalf, this can save considerably with legal costs.
